Project Christmas

A charitable corporation which operates on donations of money and gifts from public and private agencies, businesses, churches, civic organizations and individuals.

St. Tammany Project Christmas was established in 2002 to give needy children in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana a complete Christmas. Along with gifts for the children, the family receives food, including a gift certificate for a ham, or turkey to share for their family’s Christmas meal. Children are accepted for the program if their families qualify under Federal poverty guidelines and the organization consults with other local charities to avoid duplication of services.

Donations are being collected December 7th & 8th, distributing on Saturday December 12th.

In 2014, 1512 children from nearly 624 families and 47 seniors across St. Tammany Parish were adopted with a monetary value of toys and cash donations estimated in excess of $140,000. Over 20,000 children have received Christmas gifts since the organization’s inception.

Toys From Cops

The Slidell Police Association will be hosting its 5th annual Toys From Cops events for 2015. Our goal this Christmas season is to provide very special Christmas memories to dozens of Slidell’s ill, in-need, and impoverished children, as well as children of disabled or deployed military families.

As in our tradition, Christmas Elves will assist Santa Claus and Mrs. Clause in handing out specially handpicked and wrapped toys during several Christmas Parties throughout Slidell. Photos will be taken, music will be played, and food will be served all in the effort to bring smiles to those little ones who still believe in the magic of Santa.

We are looking for new, unwrapped toys from ages of 0-13 prior to December 6th. Anyone can drop off donations at the Slidell Police Department, 2nd floor, and ask for Detective Deckelman, Detective McNulty, Detective Seymour, or Sergeant Irwin.

We are looking to our local citizens and business to help assist us by December 1st, in raising money, providing items for a silent auction, or providing unwrapped toys to create this special Christmas memory for these children. Donations may be considered a tax deduction (Tax EIN# 22-3902640).

If you feel it in your heart to make a donation, please contact Slidell Police Association President Michael Deckelman at 985-960-1525 or email him at
