Fall brings delightful treats along with a welcome change in weather after our long hot summers here in Slidell.

October is a big month for family events, we hope you can get out and enjoy!

CAREY ST CRAWL

October 7, 2016, 5-9:30PM

The Carey Street Crawl is a grassroots effort to revitalize Olde Towne…”Leauxcal” art, crafts, vendors, music, shopping, kid activities, pet adoptions, and more.

Carey Street Coalition is made up of local businesses on Carey in Olde Towne Slidell, hosting a monthly “CRAWL” the first Friday of every month.

The Crawl takes place on the 2200 Block of Carey (between Robert Street and Cousin) from 5-9:30pm. This will be the opportunity for the local businesses and artist to showcase their work.

The goal of this event is to create an atmosphere that will draw crowds and families to experience Olde Towne Slidell.

SLIDELL ANTIQUE STREET FAIR

October 29-30, 2016 10am -5pm

This two-day family event ranges all over First, Second and Erlanger Streets in Olde Towne Slidell from 10 – 5 daily. Over 200 booths of antiques, collectibles, arts, crafts, food and 3 stages of music. Free parking.

OLDE TOWNE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

October 8, 2016 – 11am-4pm

Held yearly at First United Methodist Church. Proceeds benefit East St Tammany Rainbow Child Care Center, a non-profit United Way Partner Agency.

MAYOR FREDDY DRENNAN’S 13th ANNUAL WILD GAME-SEAFOOD-BBQ COOKOFF

October 1, 2016 11am-4pm at Slidell’s Fritchie Park

This event features lots of great food, plus live and silent auction, a raffle, kid zone and live music by Witness. Admission: $12 general admission, children 7-12 $5, under 6, free

BAYOU JAM CONCERT

October 9, 2016 @ 5:30pm

Bring your blankets, picnic baskets and lawn chairs and join the City of Slidell for the Bayou Jam concert series featuring Witness on Sunday, October 9th in Slidell’s Heritage Park. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m.

SLIDELL FAITH MUSIC FESTIVAL

October 8, 2016 10-6pm Heritage Park

On Saturday, October 8th, at Heritage Park, the resident’s of Slidell and neighboring areas will celebrate their 3rd Annual Faith Music Festival, from 10am to 6pm.

This party will begin with our 3.2 K Family Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 which will start and end at Heritage Park. The Faith Festival will officially open with prayer at 9:55am, followed by live entertainment from local groups throughout the day.

We invite you bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and enjoy the entertainment while picnicking at the park. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from vendors or feel free to bring your own. (No alcohol please.)

Walk around the park and visit the many booths that will be offering items for sale as well as giveaways. There will be multiple activities provided for the children, including face painting and other arts and crafts. Faith Fest T-shirts will be available for purchase.

This show tells the story of two clean cut kids, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, who run into car trouble and seek help at the sight of light down the road. Little do they know it’s coming from the place where Dr. Frank-N-Furter is in the midst of his maniacal experiments.

The play is a rock musical, a spoof of science fiction movies, and a bizarre story of seduction and sexual confusion…for some.

HALLOWEEN CRAFTERNOON AT THE SLIDELL LIBRARY

October 26, 2016 Anytime between 3-4:30pm

Come make your own haunted house out of a paper bag. Use it to collect candy on Halloween or for a spooky decoration! No registration required. No food will be served.

Tickets are $50 in advance OR $60 at the door and include food, open bar, and lots of fun!

Local businesses sponsor & donate decorated bras for our local business MEN to model for auction! Tickets include dinner, two drinks and a show you will never forget!!

ALL PROCEEDS go to local women fighting breast cancer. Over the past 5 years over $75,000 was donated from this annual event to local charities to help with breast cancer treatment/awareness.

KEEP SLIDELL BEAUTIFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT

October 21, 2016 Pinewood Country Club

All proceeds will be used to continue Keep Slidell Beautiful’s project to replace the “Welcome to Slidell” entrance signs and landscape the six entrances into the City of Slidell. $100 per golfer.

GYMNASTICS PLUS ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY PARENTS NIGHT OUT

Parents night out in October is all about Halloween! Costume contest, Halloween crafts, 10 stations around the gym of games, use of trampoline, in the back of the gym we will have a non haunted maze with gym equipment, and guests can trick or treat for goodies!

BAYOU JAM HALLOWEEN BASH FEATURING VINCE VANCE AND THE VALIANTS’

October 30, 2016 5:30-7:30pm Heritage Park

It has become one of the most anticipated of all City of Slidell events: the annual Bayou Jam Halloween Bash featuring Vince Vance and the Valiants’ and Halloween and fall-themed activities for the family.

Vince Vance and the Valiants’ stage show is a visual voyage through five decades of music. Starring the maestro of ceremonies, Vince Vance, this wholesome, fun-loving, musical stage revue is filled with colorful costumes, choreography and hilarious bouts of audience participation that are sure to entertain kids of all ages.

Children will want to sit close to the stage so they can become part of the show.
